David Horn House, Edinburgh
Living at David Horn House was one of the most memorable experiences of my postgraduate years. For the first time, I shared a house full of students from every corner of the world, each one bringing their own languages, traditions, and ways of living.
Every day was a vibrant mix of cultures, laughter, cooking experiments, and conversations late into the night. The house was always buzzing with energy and a wonderful sense of community. Of course, there were a few small challenges (sharing cleaning duties wasn’t always easy!), but they were tiny compared to the richness of what I gained.
Those two years opened my spirit, my eyes, and my ears in ways I never imagined. I left David Horn House with lifelong friendships, a broader understanding of the world, and a heart full of beautiful memories 🫶

Visual Research Methodology-Art Therapy Module
When I look back on my first-year Visual Research Methodologies module at Queen Margaret University, I always remember something my lecturer Margaret Hills shared with me, as the only Greek student in the class! She introduced me to the fascinating ideas of Plato and Aristotle about art and knowledge. Plato saw art as a mere imitation of reality, while Aristotle believed it could help us understand deeper truths through emotion and structure.
Thank you, Margaret, for your time, your attention, and for sharing your knowledge. I truly appreciate it! 🙌

Experiential group in Art Therapy Course
These are my very first art therapy drawings, created during the experiential group at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. It was a two-hour weekly group with around 12 first-year art therapy students, mostly from the UK, and two international students: myself and my friend Ichun from Taiwan.
The first drawing was made just two weeks after my arrival in Edinburgh. Looking at it now, it speaks so clearly of my homesickness and longing 😢, expressed with the rawness of a small child’s hand. No need to be an experienced art therapist to feel that...
This group was a real test for me, emotionally, cognitively, culturally, and socially. But I made it through, and I learned so much both personally and professionally. Especially once I became more familiar with the beautiful (but challenging!) Scottish accent of some of my classmates...😉
Thank you to all of you for your understanding and patience 🙌 A special thanks to Helen, for your incredible artistic inspiration, and for gifting me your green acrylic painting at the end! And thank you, Ichun, for being there, with your humour, kindness, and support.
